Anywhen for iPhone

Email support@verdantcoast.com. Include your iPhone model and iOS version and you'll get a reply.

Setting a pinned alarm

  1. Tap + to create an alarm.
  2. Choose the time.
  3. Under Timezone, tap Custom and pick a zone — or tap More… to search any IANA zone.
  4. Set a repeat pattern and a label if you want one, then save.

The countdown under each alarm shows when it will actually ring where you are now, not where you set it.

Alarms and Silent Mode

Anywhen is silenced by Silent Mode and the mute switch. Leave your ringer on for alarms you can't miss.

This is an iOS restriction, not a bug, and it applies to every third-party alarm app on the App Store — only Apple's built-in Clock app is exempt. Ringing through Silent Mode requires Apple's Critical Alerts entitlement; we applied for it and the request was declined.

Anywhen does break through Do Not Disturb and Sleep Focus. Only the mute switch and Silent Mode silence it.

Common questions

My alarm didn't ring.

Check, in order: the ringer switch on the side of your iPhone; that the alarm is toggled on; and that notifications are enabled under Settings → Notifications → Anywhen. If notifications are off, Anywhen shows a red banner and won't let you create alarms until they're back on.

I have a lot of alarms and new ones aren't ringing.

iOS caps every app at 64 scheduled notifications. Anywhen shows an amber banner as you approach that limit. Turning off an alarm you aren't using, or simplifying a complex repeat pattern, frees up room.

Does Anywhen handle Daylight Saving Time?

Yes. Alarms are pinned to a timezone rather than to a fixed offset, so a 7 AM Eastern alarm stays 7 AM Eastern across the spring and autumn transitions.

What happens if I change my phone's timezone?

Nothing moves. Your alarms stay pinned to the zones you chose; only the countdowns change, because the same instant is now a different time where you're standing.

Does Anywhen collect my data?

No. It has no network connection at all. See the privacy policy.

Can I change the alarm sound?

Not in this version. Custom sounds are planned for a future update.
